About me

Hi, Iā€™m Emma, an award winning, fine art photographer living in Brighton.

My photographs are heavily influenced by the bounty of the seasons and the subtle changes in light that accompany each month. I strive to freeze moments of fleeting beauty, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the transient wonders of nature, using my background as a stylist and love of flowers. Each scene is carefully composed to echo the time of year and then photographed using only natural light, which sometimes involves days waiting for the perfect balance.

I was fascinated with the Dutch Masters as a child, collecting postcards of their paintings when ever I visited a gallery. However in contrast to those painters who often mixed produce that would not have been available concurrently in their paintings, I take a great deal of joy in capturing the essence of the seasons and the beauty therein.

Still-life photography, allows me to create intricate compositions that blend the organic with the ethereal. Using carefully selected seasonal flowers, and exploring the interplay of light and shadow, colour and texture, I aim to create images that I hope are not just aesthetically pleasing but also deeply evocative.

Prior to my photography and styling career, I worked in an office, relieving my creative urges with a constant array of courses that eventually would lead me on this current path, everything from interior design, to pottery and jewellery making. But it was during a floristry course, I discovered an eye for colour and a passion for flowers. The photography followed a few years later when I started a blog and always the perfectionist, wanted to learn how to take high quality photos. My following grew rapidly and as a result, my job as a stylist and photographer took off.

My hope is that my work resonates with viewers, inspiring them to rediscover the wonder in the everyday and fostering a deeper appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us.

If you have any questions about my work, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
