Five tips for Styling A Spring Table
My first post on the new website; five tips for styling a simple spring table. I can’t believe I haven’t blogged since Christmas, I hope that I will be back again much sooner next time, but I’m not going to make any promises. I decided 2019 is the year I take the pressure off myself a little and worry less about the things I haven’t done yet.
I was lucky enough recently to be gifted some beautiful table linen from MagicLinen, a family run business where everything is organic, made by hand and without the use of harsh chemicals. I love the ethos behind them as well as what they make. And I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to show you how I have styled a table for a Spring lunch in an affordable and simple way.
Tip One
Use seasonal blooms - a few sprigs of pear blossom are what I’ve used here, if you don’t have a garden, ask a friend, or see what you can forage.
Tip Two
Keep the style informal with a mix of vases, vintage cutlery and handmade crockery.
Tip Three
Table linen plays a key role in the overall feel, keep colours light and pretty for Spring, like the ones I have used here from MagicLinen.
Tip Four
If you aren’t an expert at folding napkins, keep it simple. To achieve this look, I folded the napkin in quarters length ways first, making sure I hid the edge in the fold, before tucking each end under the plate.
Tip Five
Add a personal touch, by decorating each place setting. I popped a sprig of blossom on top of the napkin, so simple, but it adds a thoughtful touch.
I really do believe, that beautiful table linen doesn’t need much more in the way of decoration. What do you think?
