honest
When I visited Workshop a couple of weeks ago to take some photos for my blog post, I couldn't resist coming home with a few things, including a candle by honest. Aside from the gorgeous, simple packaging, as soon as I lit it, I knew I wanted to write a post about the brand. When it comes to scent, I am a citrus kind of girl, and the Yuzu candle (Japanese citrus with a floral undertone), smelt delicious! On further investigation, I discovered that not only do honest make beautifully scented candles, but they also make natural and pure skincare products. I have incredibly sensitive skin, and prefer therefore, to use natural products, so the range by honest, is just the sort of thing I am always searching for.
Katie Fisher, founded honest after working as a holistic therapist for 12 years, and becoming fed up with using products full of chemicals and perfumes, that were no good for her clients, and also no good for her, and her own sensitive skin. In the honest range, Katie uses base ingredients such as shea, avocado, red raspberry and chai seed oil, which are all rich in antioxidants, and vitamins. It has taken her 5 years of experimenting to create the perfect range, which is all handmade in small batches, and will continue to be made this way, to preserve the ethos behind it.
As I mentioned before, I love the packaging, it is simple and clean, which is something that Katie aspires to in her home and lifestyle, in her own words "sometimes the most beautiful things are the simplest".

Katie is currently working on her Christmas candle, which is clove and orange, and I am sure smells amazing, and she is also starting to develop a range of home scent sprays too. You can read more about Katie and her products on the honest website, and she has a lovely blog where she writes about her products and news.
