Sideline
Last week I felt very privileged to get a sneak peek of the Spring/Summer 2015 collection for a new clothing brand, SIDELINE. I've been following SIDELINE on instagram for a while now, so I knew that they could potentially be the sort of clothes I like to wear, but what I didn't expect was to want to own every piece! Each item has been designed with a great deal of care, passion, and the kind of detail, usually only found in men's tailoring, with gorgeous stitching, quilting and embroidery. All of the fabrics are indigo yarn dyed and have been woven especially for SIDELINE, but what attracted me the most, was how effortless each piece is, the perfect replacement for those jeans that most of us live in.
SIDELINE was set up by Ellen Brookes, in the past, she has designed denim and casual wear for the likes of Abercrombie and Fitch, MaxMara and many other high street brands on a freelance basis. Ellen also teaches at Brighton University, which was where she originally graduated from back in 2001. Her love of, and expertise in all things denim, is very obvious in the collection, and there is a definite nod to Japan, one of Ellen's influences.
The Spring/Summer pieces are all indigo and grey, but Ellen is planning on introducing some colour in future collections. The exquisite quilting and stitching will continue to be featured. You can see a few items below, the trousers and jumpsuit will definitely be making an appearance in my wardrobe next year!
You will be able to find these pieces in the shops from February 2015, along with skirts, dresses and the most beautiful jackets. If you live in and around Brighton, SIDELINE will be stocked by Our Daily Edit, Flint and Neilson Boutique, and don't worry, in case you forget, I will give you a reminder nearer the time!
Have a good week.
